MAGNOLIA, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University softball team wrapped up a three-game Great American Conference road series against Southern Arkansas on Monday with an 11-4 loss.
The Tigers jumped out to a quick two-run lead in the top of the first, thanks in part to a SAU fielding error, and then went up 3-1 in the fourth inning, again off a SAU miscue, scoring on a passed ball.
The Muleriders responded with a pair of three-run rallies in the fourth and fifth innings, and then extended its lead with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Ouachita's fourth run came in the sixth on an RBI sac bunt by
Jessalyn Ahrens.
Ouachita had five hits in the loss, scattered around to Ahrens,
Callie Jourdan,
Madison Miller,
Lauren Lester, and
Tuesday Melton.
Up next for the Tigers is a three-game GAC road series against Southwestern Oklahoma State this upcoming weekend.
