CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Ouachita women's swimming & diving team placed third at the 2025 New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships after five days of competition.
The Tigersharks scored 630 points to claim third place at the championship event. No. 7 West Florida won the NSISC Championship with 1269 points. No. 11 Delta State took second with 954.5 points, and cross-street rival Henderson State finished in fourth with 403.5 points.
Ouachita racked up 23 Podium finishes and set a new school record on the way to their third-place finish.
The Podium Finishers:
Anna Phelps took second in the 200 Butterfly with an NCAA B-Cut and program record time of 2:00.18, less than a second out of first. Phelps also took third in the 400 IM with an NCAA B-Cut time of 4:28.37, placed third in the 1650 Freestyle with a B-Cut time of 17:11.64, and finished fifth in the 1000 Freestyle with a B-Cut time of 10:22.11.
Jameson Tankersley took third in the 200 Backstroke with a B-Cut time of 1:02.46, 0.20 seconds out of first place. Tankersley also placed seventh in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.97.
Keilee Holcomb placed fifth in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:23.64. Holcomb also took sixth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.66, sixth in the 200 Freestyle with a B-Cut time of 1:52.69 and finished eighth in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.36.
Didi Christenson finished sixth in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 56.05.
Lenna Conard placed sixth in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 339.30.
Kate McCown finished sixth in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:40.97. McCown also finished seventh in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:13.83.
Emma Ballantyne took eighth in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:28.84.
Rachel Del Angel finished eighth in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:12.22.
Elise Henderson placed eighth in the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 10:34.71.
Linzay Taylor finished eighth in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:09.19.
The 800 Freestyle Relay squad of
Britta Andruss, Phelps, McCown, and Henderson took third with a time of 7:44.64.
The 400 Medley Relay squad of Tankersley, Holcomb, Christenson, and Del Angel finished third with a time of 2:54.82.
The 200 Medley Relay squad of Tankersley,
Kasie Lopez, Christenson, and
Sophie Derby placed fourth with a time of 1:47.22.
The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Christenson, Del Angel, Holcomb, and Derby finished fourth with a time of 1:35.55.
The 400 Freestyle Relay squad of Andruss, Holcomb, Del Angel, and Christenson placed fourth with a time of 3:33.16.
Next up, the Tigersharks will await final cuts to be made for the 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championships. With multiple members of the Ouachita swim team hitting NCAA qualifying marks over the season, the Tigersharks will be looking to send swimmers to Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in March.
