KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A combined total of 25 student-athletes from the Ouachita men's tennis and wrestling teams have been honored by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association for their academic performance.
Ramon Strassmann from the Tiger men's tennis team leads the way for Ouachita by earning the MIAA Academic Excellence Award with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average. The junior from Mueselbach, Switzerland was named the Ouachita Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for 2024-25 and also earned the MIAA's A-Game Scholar Athlete Award during the league's championship tournament. Strassmann is majoring in business administration. He was also named an MIAA Scholar Athlete and earned a spot on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
Six others from the men's tennis team were honored. Aaron Osmond and Phil Exner were both named MIAA Scholar Athletes. Osmond, Exner, Moritz Buss, and Elias Lagger all earned spots on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Yarin Aebi and Tinus Mueller were both selected to the MIAA Newcomer Academic Honor Roll.
The Tiger wrestling team had 18 honored by the MIAA. Jimmy Anderson, Caleb Andrews, Zander Fields, Parker Henry, Hudson Herring, William Martin, Jaylon Otero, Sam Schmidt, Brooks Schrimsher, Justin Shaw, Nic Thompson, and Will Wilson all earned a spot on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Hunter Baber, Luke Brooks, Cayden Byrd, Brayden Cash, Abdul Hashimi, and BK Seago were all selected to the MIAA Newcomer Academic Honor Roll.
