TIGERS FALL SHORT FROM SCATTERED HITS AT GEORGE AND OLA MCCORKLE CHALLENGE

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- The Ouachita Baptist University softball team dropped both games of Saturday's slate at the George and Ola McCorkle Challenge in Texas, falling 9-0 to No. 13 Angelo State in five innings before losing to Texas A&M in similar fashion by a 13-1 final.

The Tigers collected a hit in each of the first four innings of Saturday's opener, but could no push anything across the plate. Freshman Morgan Uher led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double to spark the offense. Uher stayed hot in the following game, reaching base twice and adding a single through the left side to finish 3-for-5 across two games.

The Tigers continued to battle, but were unable to generate any late runs needed to flip the script. Despite three straight setbacks, Ouachita faced good competition in a tournament setting and picked up a win in Friday's season opener.

The Tigers will look to build on the positives from Saturday's action as they continue to play in the McCorkle Challenge and prepare for the remainder of the February schedule. Ouachita (1-3) faces Missouri Western State in a double header on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
