ARKADELPHIA – For the second time this season and fifth in his career, Ouachita baseball's
Chase Oberle has been selected as the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week.
The honor comes after Oberle tossed his second career complete game and struck out a career-high 12 batters in the Tigers' 6-3 win over Henderson State this past Thursday across the street in game one of what ended up being a three-game sweep over the Reddies.
The graduate student from Justin, Texas allowed just three runs on eight hits in his nine-inning victory to move him to 4-4 this season.
Oberle's 230 career strikeouts in his three seasons as a Tiger ranks fourth all-time. He is 12 away from third place as Ouachita enters into the postseason.
The Tigers are set to take on Arkansas Tech on Thursday, April 30 at 4:30 p.m. in the first round of the Great American Conference Championship Tournament at Majestic Park in Hot Springs.
