Southern Arkansas put another six spot on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning, increasing their lead to 15 runs.
Ouachita needed to score six runs in the top of the seventh inning in order to avoid being run ruled for the first time all year. Unfortunately, the Tigers were only able to score a pair of runs in the final inning as the Tigers fell 17-4.
Game Two: Southern Arkansas 7, Ouachita 3
The second game of the double-header was mostly a pitching duel between the two clubs. Ouachita started the scoring in the top of the first inning with an RBI single by Tyler Riebock (Rockwall, Texas).
Southern Arkansas scored runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 2-1 lead. The Muleriders added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, with five runs off five hits.
Trailing 7-1 in the top of the seventh inning, Ouachita needed a late inning rally to try and extend the game.
Kyle Alexander (Conway, Ark.) and Studdard each had RBI knocks in the final inning to pull the Tigers within four runs. The rally came up short as they left a pair of the base paths.
