DOTSON, SNOW HIGHLIGHT OUACHITA ALL-GAC SELECTIONS

WEATHERFORD, Oklahoma – On the eve of the 2021 Great American Conference Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, eight student-athletes from Ouachita Baptist University have been honored as the league announced its all-conference teams and yearly award winners.

Dotson has now earned All-GAC First Team honors in four consecutive seasons, and has a chance to make it five next year when she returns to take advantage of her extra year of eligibility due to COVID-19 wreaking havoc on the 2020-21 season.

This year, Dotson is one of two yearly award winners and four all-conference first teamers to receive unanimous selections. The Princeton, Texas native has anchored the Tiger midfield for four seasons, and this year has started in all 17 games. This year, she has logged 1,478 minutes with six goals and four assists.

"Jaymee has been one of, if not the best midfielder in this conference since she arrived," said Ouachita coach Kevin Wright. "Her drive and ability to cover ground really sets her apart."

Snow is now a two-time all-conference honoree after earning a spot on the second team last season. She enters the GAC tournament ranked No. 1 in the league and No. 8 nationally in total saves with 116.  Throughout her 16 games this season, the North Richland Hills, Texas native has five shutouts and a conference-best save percentage of 87.2. She is second in the league in saves per game at 7.25. She was named GAC Goalkeeper of the Week three times this season.

"Michele had a wonderful year, and was really a wall for us in goal this year," said Wright. "We knew we had something special in her, but she has continued to find ways to grow."

For Turner and Kispert, this year marks three in a row to earn all-conference nods. Turner was a second team selection as a freshman and an honorable mention last year. Kispert was an honorable mention as a freshman and a second team pick last year. Turner scored five goals and had three assists this season. Kispert scored two goals in an injury-plagued season.

Fowler is now a two-time honoree after earning a spot on the second team last season. This year, Fowler scored four goals and had two assists.

Lynch and Nine were anchors for the Ouachita back line this season. The Tiger defense led the GAC in fewest goals allowed during the regular season with only 18 given up in 17 games. Ouachita also posted a league-high seven shutouts this season.

"Gracen, Ashlyn, Jamie, Josilyn, and Frankie have all had wonderful years for us," said Wright. "There has been consistency from them that we have really leaned on. There is a lot of growth and leadership within this group, and there are others that didn't make this list that are deserving as well."

Samson has earned the honor of winning the GAC Elite Scholar Athlete Award, which goes to the student-athlete competing in the conference tournament with the highest grade-point average. Not counting this semester, Samson has a 3.972 cumulative GPA, and is on pace to graduate this December with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. She plans on pursuing a master's degree in occupational therapy.
