Full ITA Release

Tiger junior Francisco Oliveira has been named the Division II UTR ITA National Player of the Week, as announced by the ITA this afternoon. Oliveira went 2-0 in singles to improve his Universal Tennis Rating from 11.76 to 12.01.

Oliveira blew past West Alabama's Christopher Bulus 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles on Sunday as Ouachita upset No. 20 UWA. He followed that with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Matias Ballatore of Mississippi College at No. 1 singles on Monday to bring his winning streak to eight matches. Oliveira was also undefeated in doubles on the week.

UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) is a number that provides a real and accurate measurement of skill level. A player's UTR is a number between 1.00 and 16.50. One match result is all it takes to receive a projected UTR. After approximately five matches, the rating becomes fully reliable.

The Tigers are back in action this weekend against Newman and Northwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri.
