WEATHERFORD, Oklahoma – On the eve of the 2022 Great American Conference women's soccer championship tournament, the league announced its end-of-the-year awards and all-conference teams with 11 student-athletes from Ouachita Baptist University making the list.
Ouachita was awarded 10 All-GAC selections for on-field performance. Two of those 10, and one other, also earned the league's distinguished scholar athlete award for a combined total of 11 Tigers to be honored at the conference tournament welcome banquet in Weatherford on Wednesday evening.
Highlighting Ouachita's selections is fifth-year senior
Jaymee Dotson, who becomes the league's first-ever five-time first team all-conference honoree in any sport. She was one of two players in the league to earn unanimous first team honors. The Princeton, Texas native was also named the league's midfielder of the year for a second straight season.
Heading into the conference tournament, Dotson is tied for the team lead in goals this season with seven, giving her 27 career goals for fourth all-time at Ouachita. She also has one assist this year to give her the team lead in total points at 15.
Also earning first team All-GAC honors for the Tigers are senior forward
Jamie Fowler and sophomore defender
Abbey Moore.
For Fowler, this is her first time to be honored on the first team after earning second team honors the past two years. The Mesquite, Texas native is tied with Dotson for the team lead in goals this year with seven, highlighted by a team-high four game-winners.
This is Moore's first all-conference honor. The Maumelle, Arkansas native was a two-time GAC defender of the week this season. She also scored her first career goal at home against Oklahoma Baptist.

Abbey Inman, junior goalkeeper
Michele Snow, and junior midfielder
Sydni Perry. Perry also earned one of the league's distinguished scholar athlete awards.
Ouachita's honorable mention All-GAC selections include freshman forward
Paige Owens, sophomore midfielder
Hayley Wolfe, and sophomore defender
Sophia Valencia.
In addition to Dotson and Perry, Ouachita junior forward
Fernanda Valencia earned a distinguished scholar athlete award, which is presented to student-athletes participating in the conference tournament that have completed at least 70 college credit hours and sport at least a 3.7 cumulative GPA.
This group of honorees has helped Ouachita secure its fourth consecutive winning season and eighth season under head coach
Kevin Wright to finish in the top three of the GAC. The Tigers are the No. 2 seed in this year's tournament, which is hosted by regular season champion Southwestern Oklahoma State. Ouachita opens up with No. 3 seed Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the SWOSU Athletic Complex. The winner advances to the finals on Saturday, also at 11 a.m., to face either SWOSU or No. 4 seed Northwestern Oklahoma State.
