LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – The Ouachita women's swimming and diving team opened the 2024-25 season by taking second place at the 2024 All-Arkansas Invite hosted by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday morning.
The Tigersharks tallied 508 points to claim second place. Division I Arkansas-Little Rock took first place with 710 points. Cross-street rival Henderson State placed third with 432 points and the Harding University club team took fourth with 201 points.
Top-five finishers for Ouachita were:
- Britta Andruss placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.31, finishing only behind DI swimmers. Andruss also took third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 191.03.
- Abigayl Conard took third in the 3-Meter Dive (first among DII divers) with a score of 162.45.
- Anna Phelps placed fourth in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:59.34, finishing first among DII swimmers.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Sophie Derby, Didi Christenson, Rachel Del Angel, and Elise Henderson finished fourth, behind only DI squads, with a time of 1:42.56.
- Rachel Del Angel took fifth in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:00.88, finishing first out of the DII swimmers. Del Angel also placed fifth (first among DII swimmers) in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:13.68
- Keilee Holcomb finished fifth in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:02.87.
- Bella Howell placed fifth in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 141.45.
- Kate McCown took fifth in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:44.88.
- Jameson Tankersley placed fifth in the 200 IM (second among DII swimmers) with a time of 2:21.49.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Tankersley, Keilee Holcomb, Didi Christenson, and Del Angel placed fifth in the event 1:51.77, finishing only behind DI squads.
- The 400 Freestyle Relay squad of Henderson, Holcomb, Andruss, and Phelps placed fifth with a time of 3:46.59.
The Tigersharks will be back in the pool at the 2024 Sam Freas Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma Christian University on Saturday, September 28 in Oklahoma City.
