HOUSE ADDS REGIONAL HONOR

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has selected Ouachita's Luke House as the NCAA Division II Central Region Pitcher of the Week for his performance in last week's series against Northwestern Oklahoma State. He was also selected as the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week.

House helped the Tigers capture a series victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State with a save in game one of this past weekend's series against the Rangers and then helped secure the series sweep with a complete-game shutout in the series finale.

With the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning of game one of the series on Thursday, House was called in to preserve a slim lead, and he did just that. He got a ground out and a strikeout to finish off the Rangers to give the Tigers a 4-3 win and the team's sixth series victory of the season.

The next day, House took the mound to start the finale in the scheduled seven-inning game of the series, and required no help from the bullpen in a complete-game shutout, giving up just three hits with six strikeouts and two walks. The Tiger offense gave House plenty of support in what ended up being a 10-0 victory for the team's third series sweep of the year.

The senior from Decatur, Texas has tossed a GAC-best five complete games this year and is in the top 10 of 12 different league categories.

House and the Tigers close out the regular season this week at home with a Tuesday non-conference game against Southern Arkansas and then a three-game GAC series this weekend against cross-street rival Henderson State.
