Ouachita Athletics Hall of Fame
Leon Clements was the most dynamic scorer and rebounder in the history of Ouachita men's basketball.
Clements was a three-time All-AIC selection during his Ouachita career (1961-65), but really was a four-time selection including an honorable mention following his freshman season. He was also selected as an NAIA All-American in his senior season of 1964-65. In addition to being selected to the inaugural induction class for the Ouachita Athletic Hall of Fame, he is also a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame, and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Clements still holds the Ouachita record for career points (2,536) and career rebounds (1,320). He had three of the top four scoring seasons in Ouachita history, including the most points ever scored in a season with 946 in 1964-65, which is also the AIC record when the league disbanded in the 1990s. The Kingsland, Arkansas native broke 10 AIC records during his career.
He passed away February 13, 2005.Â
